Cooperation in metal 3D printing - MIMplus Technologies relies on Israeli partner Tritone Technologies
MIMplus Technologies GmbH & Co. KG is further increasing its 3D printing competence and expanding the area of additive manufacturing with MoldJet technology from Tritone Technologies. This is an additive, sinter-based manufacturing process for the industrial production of high quality, complex metal components. Technically, any powder that is suitable for Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) can now be printed with Tritone’s MoldJet technology.
MIMplus Technologies has used the MIM technology successfully for many years to manufacture sophisticated components for sectors such as medical and luxury, as well as for the aerospace and automotive industries.
Both MIM and sinter-based 3D printing have in common the production of a green part, which is subsequently debinded and sintered.
Based on the patented MoldJet technology of the Israeli start-up Tritone Technologies, MIMplus Technologies will soon offer parts and projects based on the MoldJet technology in small and medium quantities quick and without the investment in a tooling. This additive manufacturing process enables the realisation of metal components with an excellent surface quality compared to other printing processes. Since it is a powder-free process with metal pastes in sealed cartridges, the printing process can be used in the industrial production without further safety precautions.
In total, more than 10 different materials can be processed, including stainless steels, titanium, tool steels, Inconel and aluminium oxide. In addition, real-time verification and quality control of each layer can be carried out during the manufacturing process.
Harald Böck - Managing Director of MIMplus Technologies is convinced: "With this new process we are expanding our possibilities and can realise almost any shape, design and complexity from prototypes to serial production."
The official start of the cooperation between MIMplus Technologies and Tritone Technologies will be announced during the Formnext fair in Frankfurt on the 16th of November 2021 – Hall 12.0, Stand E81 (booth of Tritone).
