Materials

MIMplus Technologies has a variety of standard materials.

Our engineers develop new materials for special high-volume applications in close cooperation with the customer. An example for a new material is NdFeB for hard magnets, which is currently being developed.

 

Available standard materials

Low-alloy steels for heat treatment

FN02

Versatile material with excellent surface properties. Ferretic, case-hardenable nickel steel, also suitable for soft magnetic applications requiring high saturation polarization. Used in automotive and mechanical engineering.
Iconel 601 Bearing steel with high hardness and high wear resistance. Used in bearing industry, mechanical engineering, automotive, tools, cutting blades, machine tools.
42CrMo4 Alloyed steel for high requirements on strength and toughness. Application examples: mechanical engineering, toolmaking, automotive engineering, aviation.

Tool steels

M2 High speed steel with high hardness and high wear resistance. Versatile applications in machining industry: cutting tools, highly stressed engine components.

Stainless steels

Nitronic 50 Austenitic non-magnetic stainless-steel components with enhanced demand on corrosion resistance and strength. Application: mechanical engineering and shipbuilding, chemical industry, jewellery industry.
316L Austenitic stainless-steel components with enhanced demands on corrosion resistance. Application: medical technology, aviation, jewellery or consumer goods industry.
17-4PH Martensitic, precipitation hardening stainless steel with high strength and corrosion resistance. Application examples: plant engineering, aerospace and consumer goods industry.
430 Ferritic, heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Application examples: household and kitchenware, mechanical engineering, electronics and food industry.
440C Corrosion resistant, hardenable steel with high strength and wear resistance. Application examples: plant engineering, cutting tools, spray nozzles, medical technology, roller bearings.

Titan

Ti Grade2 Unalloyed titanium with low density, high corrosion resistance and excellent biocompatibility. Application examples: Chemical industry, aviation, medical technology.
Ti Grade4 Unalloyed titanium with increased strength and lower toughness than grade 2: Aerospace, jewelry industry, medical and food technology.
Ti Grade5 Corrosion resistant titanium alloy with good ratio between high strength and low density. Application examples: aviation, medical technology, jewelry industry, motor sports.

Other alloys

FN50 Soft magnetic iron-nickel alloy with high permeability and saturation magnetization. Application examples: Solenoid valves, AC&DC relays, transformers, sensors.
FeSi3 Soft magnetic steel with low demagnetization losses and high electrical resistance. Application examples: automatic control engineering systems.
Iconel 601 Nickel-based alloy for high application temperature with excellent oxidation resistance. Application examples: components for gas turbines, diesel engines, petrochemical plants.
Cu 99.9 Copper with good electrical and thermal conductivity and excellent corrosion resistance. Application examples: electrical engineering, e.g. connectors, cooling elements.
Stellite 6 Cobalt-chromium based hard alloy with excellent wear resistance. Application examples: turbine blades, valve seats in combustion engines, parts of turbochargers.
WC/Co 88/12 Carbide with very high hardness and wear resistance even at high temperatures. Application examples: cutting tools, forming technology.
NdFeB The currently strongest permanent magnets are made of the material neodymium-iron-boron. The material is used where very strong permanent magnetic fields are required. Areas of application include loudspeakers, microphones, DC and AC motors and also magnetic clamps.
